How to estimate your SaaS build cost

Most SaaS cost estimates are either wild guesses or inflated agency quotes. Our calculator uses a feature-based model built from real projects delivered at Inqodo. Every feature has a baseline cost range derived from actual delivery time — not market-rate billing.

Multipliers are applied for user scale, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2), platform (web vs native mobile), timeline urgency, and design complexity. The total is capped at 1.75× to prevent unrealistic stacking — because in practice these factors rarely all apply at maximum.

Monthly running costs are based on real pricing from Vercel, Supabase, Clerk, Resend, and OpenAI — the actual tools we use across every project.

What the calculator covers

Feature-by-feature development estimate based on Inqodo's actual project data.

Monthly infrastructure

Hosting, database, auth, email, AI APIs and storage — itemised per tool.

Feature prioritisation

Which features to ship in V1 and what to save for V2 after user validation.

Tech stack recommendation

The exact stack we'd use for your product type and requirements.

Timeline estimate

Realistic week-by-week build time based on scope and complexity.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to build a SaaS product?

A focused MVP with 5–8 features typically costs £2,500–£8,000 at Inqodo. This covers auth, a core feature set, a basic dashboard, and deployment. Compare this to UK/US agencies charging £20,000–£80,000 for the same scope.

What are the monthly running costs of a SaaS app?

At launch with under 100 users, you can run entirely on free tiers — Vercel, Supabase, Resend, and Clerk all have generous free plans. Once you hit 1,000+ users or add AI features, expect £50–£300/month. Heavy AI usage (GPT-4, document analysis) can push this to £500–£1,500/month.

How long does it take to build a SaaS?

A focused MVP with 5–8 features takes 4–8 weeks at Inqodo. Adding admin panels, AI integrations, or native mobile apps extends this to 10–16 weeks. ASAP sprints are possible but cost 10–20% more.

What tech stack should I use for my SaaS?

For most web SaaS products: Next.js (frontend + API), Supabase (PostgreSQL + storage + realtime), Clerk (auth), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email). For AI products, add a FastAPI Python service. This stack has the best combination of speed, cost, and scalability in 2025.

Do I need to build the full product before validating?

No — and you shouldn't. The calculator's V1/V2 split shows you which features to launch with. Most successful SaaS products validated with 3–5 core features before adding complexity. Every feature you delay saves £500–£2,000 in upfront build cost.

Why are Inqodo's prices lower than other agencies?

We're a lean, senior-only team based in Pakistan with a UK presence. We don't carry the overhead of large agencies (account managers, large offices, sales teams). Our rates reflect the actual cost of delivery — not a margin on top of a margin.

Is the estimate accurate?

It's a planning baseline, not a quote. Real project costs depend on your exact requirements, feedback during discovery, and any scope changes. The calculator is accurate to ±20% for standard SaaS products. Complex integrations, custom algorithms, or bespoke hardware can push costs higher.
